After reading Julia Kent's "Shopping For a Billionaire" and falling in love with it, I was desperate to find another story to fall in love with, so I thought I'd try another of her series. I'm sad to say that it didn't hold a candle to Shannon and Declan's story, though I'm not surprised (it was that good, read it if you haven't yet!!). This story was about a "big girl" who sought love online, and ended up getting more than she bargained for- two guys who wanted her, at the same time. I guess if "you're into that kind of thing" this story would be up your alley, but I am not into what this book had to offer, so it was hard for me to get into it. It actually even turned me off most of the time. Not that it was poorly written, the story just wasn't for me.
***UPDATE*** I originally gave this review as a one star because there was a technical glitch (see original post below). To my surprise, Julia Kent contacted me and sent the corrected version of the book. I was beyond elated and have decided that I will be an eternal fan of hers. Oh, and the book is good too! *sticks BOTH thumbs up!*
I was so happy to snag this deal - 99 cents for a boxed set. I purchased a few other books that day and didnt get around to reading this one until about 3 weeks later. The story grabbed me right away, there's an element of humor that was right up my alley. When I first began reading, I noticed that there were words missing and that some of the sentences weren't connecting properly. After reading a chapter of a book like this, I realized that something was wrong. I thought maybe since I was reading it on my phone that maybe there was some technical glitch so I switched to reading it on my laptop, and still, the sentences weren't connecting, and important lines were left out which makes it hard to follow the writer's thoughts.
When I decided to just get a refund, I learned that you have 7 days to make that decision, so I'm out a whole 99c. But Ive learned my lesson, I know now that I can't buy a lot of books at a time unless I plan on reading them all within 7 days.
So my rating of the book is not based on it's content, it's based on whatever publishing error that was made and can't be rectified for this super customer.
Three stories. First Dylyn meets Laura through an online dating site. After the death of his 10 yr. Girlfriend he is ready to move on. Laura has been searching for her Prince but keeps kissing frogs...lousy cheating, lying frogs! Laura spends a glorious night with Dylan thinking she may have found "the one" but safely she spots a picture of him and his girlfriend and not realizing she's dead thinks he is a cheater. In comes Mike. Mike happen s to be Dylan's roommate and third in their past polygamous relationship with the now dead girlfriend. Mike contacts Laura through the online dating app. She accepts and soon finds out that the two guys want a threesome. I will leave the rest for you to read because it gets very complicated forms here. It was an easy read and has enjoyable characters.
Another fun read by Julia Kent! Julia has once again brought humor to her sexy stories as two people deal with the trials and tribulations of a relationship. Her writing really helps you picture the scenes in your head and make you laugh. The characters are imperfect and although most of us can't relate to what it would be like to be a billionaire (or millionaire for that matter), her characters deal with issues we CAN relate to - and adds humor to their struggles. Will read again...great for reading at the beach or by the pool!
I actually didn't finish reading it. It was so full of angst and nonsense that didn't need to be there that I gave up. The two males were not ready for a relationship. They were still hung up on a previous relationship - the female was dead but haunted every aspect of their lives. Every single thing was about this dead woman - Jill. Jill did this Jill did that; Jill would have liked this; Jill would have done that; Jill, Jill, Jill. It got old fast. I finally got past that and then it was about them opening up to her about their wealth. They kept arguing about whether or not to tell her and I just gave up. It wasn't fun. It was torture.
